Valparnas utställningsdebut och deras kritik

Skyborne Easy ("Easy", italiensk vinthund) och Skyborne A Fairy Tale ("Freja", whippet) gjorde utställningsdebut i söndags på SVVK:s utställning i Vännäs. Easy blev BIR-valp och därefter BIS! :) Freja fick Hp och blev placerad fyra av åtta jättefina whippetvalpar i babyklassen. Rasdomare var Per Lundström och BIS-domare Darko Petreski. Easys pappa blev BIM och Yebelli's Jasmine BIR. Det är kul att vi har så fina italienare i Norrland!

Easys kritik: "Lovande ram att växa i. Utmärkt längd på alla bendelar. Utmärkt bredd i lår/underben. Lång välutvecklad bröstkorg med fint förbröst. Rör sig mycket bra från alla håll. Lovande valp!" Hp, BIR BIS (6-9 månader)

Frejas kritik: "Vackert, välskuret huvud, mörka ögon. Bra underkäke. Vacker hals/överlinje. Mycket bra front/förbröst som har väldigt mycket muskler. Välvinklat kraftfullt bakställ av fin bredd och härlig muskulatur. Utmärkt benstomme. Rör sig väl för sin ålder. En lovande valp :) som uppvisas i härlig kondition. Vacker päls." Hp, placerad 4/8 (4-6 månader). Inom parentes sa domaren att hennes välutvecklade muskulatur gjorde att hon drog ihop sig lite under rörelse vilket påverkade placeringen i klassen, men att han gillade hennes muskler.

Det småduggade under förmiddagen och var mulet hela dagen, vilket inte var så roligt med tanke på att prognosen sagt att det skulle vara soligt och jag varken hade täcken till hundarna eller stövlar med mig. Lyckligtvis var det ändå en mycket trevlig utställningsdag! :)

All the puppies are sold

I haven't had much time to update our website or weblog recently ... All the puppies are sold and have moved to their new families. One of the Italian Greyhound girls (Livia) is living in Norway, the other girl (Nova) is living in Sweden and the boy (Dobby) is also living in Sweden. Our keeper from this litter is Skyborne Easy. She is the happiest little puppy I've ever met, and I hope it will be possible to bring her to shows later on this summer (i.e., if she ever learns to stand still for more than a fraction of a second, and trot instead of jumping or "flying")!

The Whippet puppies have moved all around Europe ... S. Image of Light (Cash) is owned by Kristin Hoff and two of her friends in Norway, S. Touched By An Angel (Flash) is owned by Monika Koc, Poland, S. Crossing the Atlantic (Lucas) is owned by Linda Aronsen, Norway, and S. The Room Of My Life (Ivy) is owned by Liane Bertlich, Germany. Thus, our keeper is Skyborne A Fairy Tale (Freja).

It is very obvious that Freja is a daughter to Saga and Marcus. What's more, she is an extremely kind and well behaved puppy who never does anything bad, and she is already housebroken (I hope it's the correct word)! :)

5 weeks old

The theme of this litter will be American poems. We still haven't decided which puppy who will be given what name, though. The male puppy above is still for sale, and so is one of the other males. They are four weeks and three days today.

Two of the Italian Greyhound puppies have moved

Yesterday, Skyborne Enjoy moved to her new family in Västerbotten, and today Skyborne Emotion moved to Norway. It feels really empty without them, but we hope that they will be as loved by their new families as they have been here. Good luck with them!

The last day of the holiday

All the puppies are developing as they should. Hermione's puppies are really funny and playful! They turned seven weeks yesterday and have been outdoors a few minutes at a time this week. The male puppy is still for sale.

The children and I have had Christmas holiday for more than two weeks, but tomorrow the schools start again. They have spent lots of time skiing during the holiday. We have plenty of snow here ... Too much, if you ask me.

Saga has given birth to five puppies! :)

Ch Play A While A Room With A View gave birth to five puppies today! Three boys and two girls. All the boys and one of the girls are brindle, and the other girl is dark fawn. They all have white trim.

Saga is a perfect mother, and I already love her puppies!

Saga day 60

Saga has only eaten paste and a little sausage today, so I guess she feels something is going on. I'm so excited! Her weight today is 18,5 kilos. She breathes really heavily and doesn't find a comfortable way to sleep or rest.

Yesterday we had a very nice visit from Sundsvall. "Sigge" (Skyborne Dust of Gold) came here together with his owners, Elina and Marcus. Elina and Marcus played with the IG- puppies (or maybe it was the other way round!) and then the puppies slept for the rest of the day! :) I really love these puppies; they are so calm and sweet, yet playful and not afraid of anything.

It's difficult to take pictures of four-week-old puppies!

Our puppies love playing with our kids. Taking photos of the puppies is not very easy, though, because they just keep moving as long as they are awake, and the lack of sunlight this time of the year doesn't exactly help either. Here they are together with our four-year-old daughter Indra.

As you can probably see, Saga doesn't have a gigantic belly to show off. But she is definitely in whelp, and she is bigger "from above" than from the side. I think that she hasn't even noticed that something has changed! (She usually doesn't look this unhappy, only when she has to stand still waiting for the photographer to take his/her pictures so she can have the treats that is right in front of her!)

Sire: Am GCh, Fin, Est, Nor Ch, WW 2011 Aberdeen Remarkable In Paris ("Marcus").

Their eyes and hearts have been checked. Eyes: clear; echo cardiac: normal.
The puppies will be born around December 30.

Yesterday, Hermione gave birth to four puppies: one boy and three girls. Two of the girls are grey, the other two puppies are isabella. The mother and the puppies are just fine and the puppies are already pretty fat! :)

SE & NO UCH Play A While A Room With A View, Saga, was mated 15 days ago with Multi Ch WW 2011 Aberdeen Remarkable in Paris, "Marcus". Pictures will follow! We are not sure yet whether she is in whelp or not.

Eyes tested: clear! :)

Idag ögonlystes Saga (Ch Play A While A Room With A View) och ögonen var utan anmärkning! På whippetar finns ju inget krav på ögonlysning, men det känns ändå skönt att det är gjort. Kanske skulle man ändå kunna ha någon typ av krav på ögonlysning för hundar som ska användas mer frekvent i aveln (t.ex. innan de ska få sin andra kull), men så länge som ögonsjukdomar inte är något reellt problem inom rasen här i Sverige antar jag att det skulle vara svårt att få gehör för ett sådant förslag.
